Abyss Gear
From The Aion Wiki
In Aion, Players are rewarded for their efforts in the war against the opposing faction. There are two forms of progression: Rank, and Gear.
Players may choose to keep their points and gain rank, or they may spend them on various items — the most powerful in the game. These items which are in a grade all of their own, are called Abyss Gear.
All Abyss items come with 2 additional bonuses compared to normal gear:
- Higher Manastone Socket Count
- PvP Damage Reduction / Bonus
Abyssal items come in various forms, Green, Blue, Orange, and Set, Green being the weakest, and Set being the strongest. Set not only gives the strongest bonuses, but in turn also gives more bonuses the more pieces you collect.
Acquiring Abyss Gear
In order to gain access to higher tiers of Abyss gear, Players need Contribution Decorations. These Medals are granted through Fortress Sieges. Only the top players in each siege are awarded medals, and even further few top players are granted gold medals. The rest are given silver medals.Silver Medals can also be used to gain golden medals by visiting the coin fountain below each stronghold within the abyss. Players throw there medals into the well, and have a chance to get golden medals in return.
Players are not just limited to acquiring armor and weaponry. They are also granted access to recipe's for siege weapons, consumable items, and even godstones, via the Consumable Contributor.
